i was messing around and I used that NuFinish polish stuff in that orange bottle... it worked really really good.

 

Wetsanding works great if the headlights have VERY minor pitting but if there's deep pitting, wetsending won't do all that much just because it won't cut deep enough to handle the deeper "chips" or pits. However, it will work great on the minor surface ones.

 

Yea, there is nothing you can do about deep pitting, but from my experience, wetsanding, when used in combination with polishing, is superior to just polishing for the overall amount of improvement.

I use 400 wet up to 2000 grit wet with a sanding block(this is key to prevent distortions), and polish with the normal paint correcting polishes. Ive even removed the wetsanding scratches with rubbing compound and scratchx by hand before I had a PC, since the plastic is much softer than the paint

Their polish is amazing! People say its cheap and has a "crap" name, but man it works.

If you guys are talking about the regular Nu Finish in the orange bottle, it's not a polish. You get what you pay for. I personally would never use it on my G or customers cars. The gloss and depth is NOTHING compared to a more quality less chemical filled product. Don't skimp on car cleaning products to save a few bucks, it's just not worth it in the long run. If you are going to buy OTC products stick with brands like mothers, megs etc. Just my opinions of course.

 

As stated in the post, it's a friends car. It happens to LOTS of people. Not everyone is up on car care or what products to use for what purposes. He bought the car not that long ago and they were already hazed up.
