Weekend Project - new G35x

I picked up the new G35 yesterday and went to work on it. The window tinters were obviously pretty careless when they did their thing. Couple of pretty long scratches down the whole body. Actually I’m glad because now I have an even higher sense of accomplishment. My routine:

Wash with Dawn
Clay with Meguires mild clay
Menzerna IP on problem areas
Scratch remover on areas that had deeper scratches
IP on those areas again to remove haze
FP on entire car
A little P21S GEPC. I know it’s redundant but it helps get all the other crud off.
Blackfire paint sealant
Blitz over that

Took about 5 hours with breaks. Let me know what you think.

Looks good, nice to see others still using Blitz grand wax. Doesn't stain trim and easy to use.

Blitz is great stuff. Still one of the best carnuba waxes imo. It's so easy to use and leaves no dust behind.

Undecided on the mods as of now. We shall see though. They have a habbit of creeping up on me.

That's 35% on the sides and rear. I was worried it was going to be too dark, but it really came out nice.

Looks like maybe Blackfire's Long Lasting Tire Gel.

Actually it's just Vinylex. I prefer the dark matted look. The dealer put somethng very heavy and shiny on so there's still some of that on there.

I'm with you. I like the matted look. I've found that as long as I keep the tires clean, the Vinylex (sp?) does a pretty good job. It keeps it looking new and black for quite a long time because it's conditioning the rubber and not just putting a oil glaze on it. As they get older, I may need to move to something else. Any ideas?

Great job on the detail, looking very deep and wet! What'd you think of the Blackfire sealant?

Merlin,

I would suggest trying Migliore: Bella Lustra Tire Glaze. I have attached two pictures below. The first a members G37S, the second is my personal vehicle. George at DI also has many tire products as well.

Thanks! I like the blackfire a lot. It is easy enough to work with and doesn't leave any dust. I'm not sure how well it protects yet, but I will tell you that it leaves the car incredibly slick to the touch. However, I still prefer a carnuba finishing on the top. I just think it looks better...deeper. I tend to use the blackfire under in the winter most often since they say it will protect for 6 months. It's hard to get my detail on in the winter in these parts. I'll try other though.
