Is Black a mistake?

I'm very sure I'm going to get a 08 coupe. I love the looks of black, but have never owned a black car and have heard about it's showing dirt and swirls, etc. I also live in Arizona and worry about the heat. but it looks so cool!!

Is Black a mistake.

depends how committed you are in keeping your car clean. black cars will always show more swirls, but when they're shiny, it outdoes any color IMO.

This subject has been beaten to death. Black cars look great as long as they are kept clean and waxed. If you don't mind washing your car every week and have the time to keep it shining, buy one, but if you don't clean it it will look like crap.

you might have to buff out the swirls but you can get rid of them. then just worry about the heat.

So far the OB paint on my coupe is the worst paint i have seen on any black car in my life...IT SUCKS! On my gmc sierra truck i have 150K miles on it and the paint is still in great shape. Everything that touches the paint somehow screws it up..if tire shine gets on it...it discolors. It scratches so easy! and is very very thin....i wish infiniti would have done a better job on the paint IMO.

It will be a long time before I have another black car which is why I got athens blue. It's a pain in the @ss to keep looking swirl free and clean. In the arizona sun your swirls will show up a lot, not to mention that it's gonna burn you when you get into it. I'd go with a silver color, or if you want to be unique, get red or blue.

Black is an amazing color on a car if you know how to take care of it, but on the G it sucks. It looks good, but the paint itself sucks...seems cheap IMO.

Black in Arizona........your kidding?

I've never owned a black car but the Twilight Blue is damn close. I don't
leave the garage without dusting it off and then I have issues with the
swirl marks the duster leaves so I end up wiping down the car with Adams detail
spray and a towel. Your summers are hotter than ours in Ca. so if I was
going to buy an '08 it would be IP......they look so great with light gold
19s and of course mega tint..........Black or another dark color never again!!
