Do I need to use the same polish on the entire car?

Let's say that my car is worse in some section than in others as it relates to paint defects.

Can I treat the really bad sections with a more aggressive compound/polish (i.e. Menzerna Power Gloss) and polish the rest with a less aggressive one (i.e. Menzerna SIP) as long as I use a finishing polish (Menzerna PO106ff) over the entire car??

Definitely plan on sealing and waxing as well.

Thanks in advance for your advice!!!

I think that'd be ideal. Always use the least aggressive products that get the job done.

My concern with using different polish 'weights' is that I would unevenly 'wear down' the clear coat in some areas versus others. So, from what I'm hearing, I should be using different polishes on different areas of my car depending on the paint conditions, correct? The finish polish will even everything out in the end?

Yeah, your finishing polish should even it out and remove any hazing from the heavier cutting Power Gloss. No reason to use a heavier polish or pad where it is not needed.

You got it dead on. As others have mentioned, ideally, you want to use the least aggressive method to get the job done. By finishing the entire vehicle with the same finishing polish, it will make for a uniform finish.

Keep us posted on how the detail turns out! If you have any other questions let us know.
