Re-painting front bumper questions...?

The 2004 Coupe I just purchased has a lot of chipping on the front bumper and a 4 inch scratch on it as well. I want to have it re-painted. I'm assuming that an Infiniti dealer would charge a lot more for this than a regular body shop......my questions are:

1. What does a typical Infiniti charge to re-paint a front bumer (diamond graphite)?

2. What does a regular body shop charge to do this type of work?

3. Would you guys only trust an Infiniti dealer with this type of work? Or, do you feel a reputable body shop could an equal quality job like this?

4. I've never had an auto repainted, what things should I look for to make sure the job was done right?

After I do re-paint it I plan to get 3M for the front end.

Thanks guys!

He's right. Prices are going to depend on where you live and where you go. I could tell you what it may cost here, but it may be hundreds different where you are.

Most Dealerships farm out the work to a local body shop. You could always ask where they get their work done, and inquire for yourself.

I had my 04' front bumper repainted two years ago. I asked at my dealership, but they only used a local guy who came in and painted it right on the car....

So, I went to a reputable body shop in my area.....had some repairs done from a hit I took on the highway, and had them repaint the entire bumper.

Cost me close to $625. But thats the price you pay in Jersey for tri-coat Pearl paint.

I was quite happy with the results....the bumper actually matched better than the OEM paint job from the factory....Now my rear bumper looks off compared the the front.

Good luck

i had part of mine repainted for about 280, and it came out good

the local dealership here is part of a group... taylor infiniti, taylor bmw, taylor toyota blah blah blah.. and they have their own body shop taylor collision and that was who did mine

i'd ask your dealership who they would use and at least get an estimate there
