Body Side Moldings on Coupe

I was thinking about getting the body side moldings put on my coupe but so far I don't think I've ever seen a coupe with them on. Does anyone have any pictures? I kind of hate to do it, but I live in Austin, Texas, where people take great pride in slamming their damn car doors into the side of other people's cars.

I have a pair I bought from Grubbs Infiniti in Texas, but never put them on. They are still in the original packaging if you would like to purchase them. I'll let them go for $75 including shipping. They are Diamond Graphite color. Go to the "rides" section of the forum to see pictures of them on a car.

I didnt get them cause it takes away from the swooping affect our cars have...I dont like the seperation which breaks up the curve and flow...but to each their own

I think it makes them look cheap. No offense to others, but it looks like something that would be on an Accord or an Altima.

With nice and/or modded car, driver/owner care must increase a bit.

Protect your car by parking further away, etc.

Same as before... no offense to those who have this option... but, please don't do it! Please, please, please.

Well that's why I didn't get them right off- I really don't like how they look on the car. And believe me- I park miles away from others whenever I can. But as you know there are THOSE people (usually driving beat-to-hell cars and pickups) who will go miles out of their way to park right next to you. And on more than one occassion I've seen them purposefully slam their car doors into the side of high-end cars. *sigh* On the plus side- I get all my exercise walking the 2 miles from the far side of the parking lot to the store.... Maybe I just need one of those really annoying alarm systems that goes "STEP AWAY FROM THE CAR, SIR"... Or I wonder if there's a mod for equipping the car with auto-launch tazers....

I'm kind of on the fence about these; it is kind of like the rear spoiler - the car looks good both ways. It is really up to you as to whether you feel the extra protection is needed.

I have them on mine and I am torn between taking them off or leaving them on.

To remedy this all too often problem, I purchased a couple of these. http://www.autopia-carcare.com/acp-20030.html

They attach to your vehicle via magnets. So far so good although I still make it a point to park a good distance away.

Also, despite their claims that they do not scratch the paint at all, I was still a little skeptical and covered the parts that attach to the vehicle with felt.

I actually like the fact that they provide some separation in the lines of the car.

Re: Body Side Moldings on Coupe

Wasn't sure on getting them till today. Yes it happened, door ding. Pissed me off for the rest of the day. Can anyone tell me the height from the bottom of the door to where the trim starts? This might be the exact height that will cover up the slight dent?

Thanks

Re: Body Side Moldings on Coupe

I have them on my Black Coupe.....and I agree...they break up the tall looking lines of the door,,,,and make the car look lower to me......plus they actually do help keep down the dings.
