Insane

I am going insane, today i got in my G and there was freaking pollen in the god damn back seat where instead of dust. It had a green hue to it. And when i went to wash it, it just didnt give me that shine anymore. I got literally a million swirl marks on my hood, i use turtle wax soap, and a meguiars lambs wool washmit. I mean you cant see it if you are just walking up to it, but if you were close and just were standing over it i swear you would say they are real scratches that werent just in the surface. What can i do to restore its original bueaty. I followed bettercarcare.com no luck :-(. I am losing hope, also what do you guys think of KIT1 on zainobros.com is it worth it?

Re: Insane

i used an orbital to get out my swirls. porter cable 7424, something like that. Before, I could notice the swirls from any angle...now they are all almost gone. I'm gonna use it again soon, maybe on a higher speed (4), and get them all out.

Re: Insane

the orbital is an electric polisher. benefits are the heat it generates compared to hand waxing and time needed. if you get a polisher, make sure it's an orbital, as rotaries can damage your car if not used properly.

basically you apply a swirl remover to the waxing pad of the orbital. place the orbital on your car. turn it on and move back in forth...preferably in the direction wind flows off your car. after applying the swirl remover, i then remove the wax with the orbital also, this time using a polishing pad. move in the same directions and apply slight pressure; the weight of the orbital itself is sufficient.

then i use a towel to get the smaller areas and remove the wax. that's it. i use 3M swirl remover for dark cars.

another tip...i have been using mr. clean's autodry when washing my car, this eliminate's having to use a towel to dry it; another factor for swirls.

if you need anymore details on using an oribtal, where to get one, etc., let me know. i have the links at home...at work right now.
