Gold on Blue... Insane?

I was thinking about getting a set of Volks for my coupe, I wanted it to be strong and light. That said, I don't have the cash for a new set so I've been shopping for used ones for 14months now. Do you think gold rims with polished lips would look insane on a Caribbean Blue Coupe?

I don't want to drive around giving people heart attacks.

Gold on blue is the Sti tradition. I personally don't think it will look good on a G35c. Bronze on blue may be better, but I'd have to see a pic or photoshop. If I had Caribbean Blue, I'd probably go with gunmetal Volks.

Polish or Chrome will look good on blue! It's more stands out and eye catching.

Re: Gold on Blue... Insane?

Polished and Silver = more standard, matches more colors
Chrome = more bling, matches more colors
Gold = more "daring", matches fewer colors

I'm more conservative and have choosen Silver to match Laser Red. I think the gold would look OK, but if you had all silver it would look better. Personally I like gold on white cars, and I've seen 1 gold on black (with polished lips) that looked pretty good, but on blue... I think I'd keep looking.

Re: Gold on Blue... Insane?

Yeah, that's what I thought. Ideally I would like to have silver rims maybe with polished lips. With Caribbean Blue I don't really have too many choices when it comes to rims color.

Bronze is too old and dull
Chrome is too bling for me
Gold is too much.
White is rice
Gun metal is not bad.
Silver is still ideal, as the color of the car already attracts too much attention.

You're right, gold looks awesome on white or red, bronze looks great on black, gunmetal works with most silvers, but blue.... it's tough.

I have been thinking gold SF challenges on my TB coupe for a while now. I think gold and the darker blue would look nice, I have not pulled the trigger yet tho.

Why not try BLUE on BLUE?

My manager's Amistad Type C in Deep Blue is coming to the US on the 23rd for his Blue G35 coupe. Will show pic after it's installed.

Thank you.

Re: Gold on Blue... Insane?

I think the only gold that would look good on CB is the volk gold. The racing hart gold looks too wierd.

I think Volks or Nismo are your only safe bet.
