Scratch Shield Paint

Are there any special considerations as far as cleaning and waxing scratch shield paint?

I have been trying to research this a bit myself. You might have seen it but here is a thread about it on Driver -

Here is another thread on DetailingBliss -

If you look at the videos you can see what happens when he tries to polish the car. His polish gums up and the polisher quits because it overheats.

My question is this... if the car he was working on did in fact have the scratch shield paint then why did it have all the light scratches that he was trying to remove???

I'm wondering in an instance where a vehicle doesn't see much heat (parked in a garage at work and home) if the clear will be scratched until it's left to sit in the sun for a while???

The technology has plenty of un-knowns at this time since it is so new. Only time will tell...

I thought the self healing clear coat was on the 09 models, not an 08 which he is working on. Unless, the customer had the whole car re-painted using the self healing clear coat, which has been around.
