while we are on the topic, I have an issue with my windshield. There seems to be these spots/marks all over the inside of the windshield, almost looks like overspray or something. you dont see it all normally until the glass fogs up or you go to clean it.

It almost seems like it is greasy as it seems more slick over these spots when you go to wash it. However they do not smear and I couldn't get it to remove or budge for the life of me with stoner's and my MF rag. I have no idea what it is or why it is being so difficult. I am worried that it is some overpray from dash protectent or the likes and was caked/burned into the glass from being in the sun at the dealer. I am out of ideas.

any suggestions, I don't think I would have any luck trying to get the dealer to cover it under warranty if it is indeed damaged but I never seen anything like this.

Thanks ahead of time!

Stoner's Invisible Glass is the best glass cleaner I've ever used. But Megs NXT glass cleaner is pretty good too. You can use almost any glass cleaner as long as it doesn't contain ammonia. Ammonia will ruin any tint, and over time it will eat away at the rubber, trim, and seals around the windows.

Autogeek.net sells a waffle weave glass towel from Cobra that is really tough to beat. I use two, one for initial cleaning, then one to buff off any streaks or residue.

AG also sells something called the glass master which is a must if you're serious about cleaning automotive glass. It's got an angled, pivoting head that can reach into those tight areas at the very bottom of the front and rear windshield. Before I got this, I would have my 6 year old clean this part of the glass for me because she was the only one with fingers small enough to fit down there.

Claybars work great on glass, just like they do on paint.

Rain-x will also act the same way wax/sealant does on your paint. It will keep dirt and debris from clinging to your class and make it easier to clean the next time.

Finally, Turtle Wax recommends it's Chrome Polish for glass use. And I will say, it works pretty good. It will remove contaminants, and even strip wax (like Rain-X). Buffs off pretty easy too.

Newspaper works. But that is something that people came up with before technology advanced far enough to invent Microfiber. It's one of those old home remedies (like putting oatmeal on mosquito bites) that works, but just can't compete with modern technological advances.

maybe i will try that. I tried clay baring it as I found some information suggesting that may help. that didn't help at all so it seems like it is more so etched though. If i run my finger nail across the inside of the window you can feel that it is not smooth but "bumpy".

It is over the entire front windshield, I dunno wtf caused it but it pisses me off. Good thing is, it is invisible under normal situations, you only see it if the glass fogs up, or when you try to wash the window. It is still annoying as hell though. If I would of known about this I would of definitely said something when I was looking at the car at the dealer, but I wasn't thinking of "fogging up the glass" to check for something like this....
