My FX Detailed by me
My FX Detailed by me
Whats going on guys? I'm an FX owner as some of you may know.. I'm on infinitiscene.com
Anyway, story was the other day I noticed some white spots all over my truck.
Something like overspray or construction dust. Which I beleive was from my school, no I did no report it. Next time I will raise hell. It was absolutley terrible, everywhere on the truck, roof, grill, you name it.
And for some of you who dont know, I'm 17 and I currently go to school for automotive repair. My dad also owns a repair shop here in South Fla.
I decided to go to work. I told my dad about it, he said I should report it to the school.. But i decided not to and took matters into my own hands. He sounded pretty upset, I guess he thought I did something foolish with my car and this is how I ended up with the spots.
So I brought it into school last Monday, the 27th and began my work. I do alot of detailing at my school, everyone knows I handle everything that comes out of the booth.. runs etc... So I already knew what to do.
I started off by claying the whole entire car, then glazing it. The hood was so bad I had to clay, buff, and glaze it. Keep in mind my truck is black.
This all in all took me about 16-18 hours. Yes, I did it all by myself. My teacher purchased new buffing pads for me, new eggshell pads, and some costly compound and glaze. The total coming out to over 100 in materials.
This is how the whole car looked btw, the hood if not 3x worse.

Supplies:

The finished product.

Waxed a total of two times with turtle ice wax.
Any questions on the steps pm me, or leave it here.
SORRY FOR THE LONG ESSAY.
