I saw a IP coupe in a parking lot out in Vegas today... it had a clear bra on it that I could only describe as "Arkansas tooth yellow". I wanted to grab the owner and, after shaking him/her vigorously for doing that to their car, ask where they got it done. Is this a common problem with clearbras on white cars in these environments?

Was something wrong with the car or is it just dirty? I was going to a chiropracter (sp?) for a while and where I parked there were a ton of trees with loads of pollen. If I went like a week without washing, the clearbra REALLY stood out and it looked a little yellow.

The 3M Clear Bra will yellow with UV exposure. Mine (on my IP sedan) has started, but not that noticeable so far. I put some fresh 3M on the body at the lower rear door seam recently to protect against some chips that were happening, and noticed a difference with the older 3M around the wheel wells.

I heard that the Avery film doesn't yellow, but it's not widely available.

It seems, w/ extreme heat (e.g. Vegas), the old 3M film yellows over time. I haven't seen any problems w/ Venture or Llumar..........plus these films come w/ a lifetime warranty.

The car itself wasn't dirty, but damn the clear bra stood out. It looked as if half of it had "plaque".

Can anyone with a lot of (or any) experience with Crystal Guard speak on it protecting from the UV yellowing? Or any other product that claims to protect against UV?

 

I'm located in Southern California. Sorry I didn't mention

I noticed yesterday while washing over the hood portion of the clear bra "Venture Tape" three small yellow spots. It’s been only a month since install? Has anyone experienced this?

Right after my Xpel clear bra was installed some bird decided to deposit his "doo-doo" right on my hood where the clear bra is. I cleaned it off and noticed it had left a yellowish stain that would not come off. Called up the installer and he said to give it a few days and the clear bra should "bleach" away the yellow stain. He was right, the stain has since disappeared. Give it a week or so and see if those stains are still there. If so, I'd give the clear bra installer a call. - Mike

Envisage no longer uses Llumar because of adhesion problems............which is the same reason we are both using Venture Tape. Give Edre a call..........located in Torrance.

my grandfather recently had a clear bra put on his silver LS 430 and i was speaking to the installer (tom from se-ex.com) and he said that any tire dressings can harm the clear bra. So if you put it on ur tire and go driving clean ur clear bra ASAP because it will cause yellowing really fast...

 

Stongard has a lifetime guarantee against yellowing, if you happen to use that product.

There is a version 2 of the 3M clear bra out, btw, and I have it on my car. Looks great. Supposedly takes care of the yellowing..
