Re: should i paint or just buy one?
I painted mine, and they still look great even after more than 15,000 miles on them... This was hands down the best way to get a stock G looking more aggressive.
My paint may have chipped slightly in places not normally seen by others.. But my body shop has a lifetime warranty against chipping... So I'm fine with it !

Yea I totally agree with IksardarG, I had mine painted as well...The guy at the autobody shop also put some clear tape under the bottom sills so they wouldnt get chipped up.

well..if u want a totally different look..I suggest go for the sportec kit..posted on the technical forum..I believe under 1g for the kit..
I dunno how much painting would cost..but its probably like 5 bills..spend another 5 and you get a different look..

I took my car to both Maaco, and Toyota bodyshop to get an extimate on the black part on the bottom of the G painted and they both told me that since the black part is plastic, paint would eventually peel off from it. So im still not sure what to do. Only $300 to get it painted or spend over 2Gs for a bodykit... You guys with your lower sills painted: have you had any problems with paint peeling off?

Pleae don't take your car to Maaco............that's why it only costs $300. It's funny how they told you the parts are plastic, which is why it'll eventually peel.............well, keep in mind our bumpers are urethane. Expect a good bodyshop (w/o hookup) to charge you $400-$500 for all 4 pieces.
I purchased my sedan in 2002 of April and had those pieces painted several wks into the purchase and have not had anything peel.
As for worrying about paint chipping, you could always get the sides and fronts covered w/ a clearbra custom made for them.......that's what I did to mine.
As a matter of fact, I will actually be applying VentureShield Paint Protection Film onto the doors on all of my cars next wk. These are the areas most vulnerable to door dings and scratches from parking lots. I will post pics once my it's done.
