Sealant left smear marks...

I did a wash, clay, polish, and sealant yesterday and noticed that everywhere where I applied the sealant, smear marks were left.

Following this I applied a little elbow grease with some MF to get most of it out, but you can still see the smear lines on the hood. I found out after that some QD got it out pretty easily.

What could be the reason for this? I applied the sealant just as the instructions said..

You probably didn't buff off all of the sealant.

What sealant were you using? I usually get some smears from Opti Seal, but QD takes it right off. I rarely get any with Full Molecular Jacket or Jet Seal.
