Water Filters-Non Mr. Clean

Anyone know if filters are available that will attach directly to the garden hose. I am thinking that the filtered water won't leave spots, at least as much as regular water. Of course, I wouldn't want to sacrifice water pressure for this either. Has anyone made anything to adapt to their hose (garden hose that is)?
Yes, I do dry my car, but there is always a drip somewhere lurking, and sometimes the water just dries too fast.
