Ive found a thread on how to detail your engine , but no details on what components to cover up ; was only told the intake/filter, is that it ?

umm u can use any engine degreaser... only thing u gotta cover up is just ur air filter... as long as u keep ur battery cover on then thats all u gotta cover thats it and ur fine

 

You should also avoid hitting your coil pack, alternator and things like
that. I have heard that autozone and advance auto and some other
automotive stores sell this stuff called CD2 that works great. I have not
looked for it so I don't know how readily available it is but have heard
different stories about it being discontinued.

 

what's the coil pack?

 

I am not a G35 owner. I am currently looking for one. The coil
pack is where the sparkplug wires are plugged into/where they
start. Especially if the pack has a small crack or no di-electric
grease was used on the wire fittings, water will seep in and it
will be difficult to start your vechicle.
