Cleaning floormats

I have a quick question. How do you guys get the dirt out of your floormats? I am not talking about the loose stuff buy the really deep dirt. I cleaned them today but everytime I hit them more dirt would come out this went on for about 20 minutes and got really old quick. Are they machine washable? Or can they be hoses down with no ill effects.

I cleaned mine recently after all the snow and dirt. I scrub them down with soap to get all of the hard dirt out and afterwards i throw them in the washing machine. They come out looking brand new.

I had the same problem no matter how much you wash them by hand dirt just keeps coming out. Its fine to wash them but you have to air dry them. IF you decide to throw them in the dryer only put them on low heat for less than 10mins and let them air dry afterwards.

I put them in a big bucket with woolite mixed to a strength for laundry and let them soak for an hour, then I get a soft bristle brush and work in the soapy water and then let them sit for a half hour. I then rinse them with a garden hose until no soap comes out. I have two sets of mats and just rotate them every couple of months.
