Re: *NEW* Improved Crystal Guard Quick
cool, i am interested in ordering a bottle as well... so what do i need? just a bottle of that diluted water at like a grocery store and a bottle of cg quick?
I have a black car btw, and its been 8 months since i got it and havent waxed her yet, i wash her ever 2 weeks though, i think its time i get CG quick...
would you guys recommend this? or did i wait too long? some ppl said to go with zaino if i hadnt wax my car in so long cause of the swirl marks... so im really undecided as of now on which to get. The zaino method is expensive and theres just way too many steps and seems like a headache for me. like z6, z10, z11, but CG quick on the other hand sounds so simple to use....
what do you guys recommend for me?
I plan on getting a claybar kit at autozone to, i think my car needs to be claybarred 1st before i apply the new and improved CGQ.
Can you tell me if this is correct:
1. Rinse Car Down
2. Dawn Wash it
3. Dry it
4. Claybar
5. Rewash it again
6. Spray CGQ on one section at a time, let it sit for 30 mins, and wipe off
Is that correct?

Re: *NEW* Improved Crystal Guard Quick
eurog35... that's pretty much it. spray bottle of water (i think you meant "distilled" water, right? ), clean microfiber towels, and CG quick. does your car have visible swirl marks? if so, i would try to get those out before you CG. and once you apply your first layer, you'll have less steps.
1. Rinse Car Down
2. Wash it with non-stripping car wash soap
3. Dry it
6. Spray CGQ on one section at a time, let it sit for 30 mins, and wipe off
and you should take a look at this thread for more detailed instructions. rambo and ca_kid did awesome jobs on their write-ups. happy CGing.

Re: *NEW* Improved Crystal Guard Quick
CG is way better than Meg NXT right? CG gives more shine than NXT ?

bombRush... hey, you! it wouldn't let me reply to your PM, so re-visit your old thread for my reply. as for CG vs NXT, personally, i can't make a comparison since i've never tried NXT. however, i have read that NXT's durability and the length of shine isn't as long as CG's (or zaino's). i believe the words used were, "meguiars NXT sucks!" i'm sure the shine quality is probably similar at first, but the CG will most likely last a lot longer.

Re: *NEW* Improved Crystal Guard Quick
Yeah, that was my thread..."meguiars NXT sucks!" It does really well 1st application. 1 week later I used the boost and it looked great again! Week 3 the boost didn't look as good when I used it again. I started over with NXT at the end of week 4 and it didn't look good. So once a week I was redueing the whole thing, and it sucked comparied to things I've used before. I like meguiars 3 step better then NXT and it lasts longer.(This is all on my explorer, not my G) I've only used Zanio on my G!!!
I'm a huge Zanio fan!!! Never tried CG. But trying to compair NXT to CG, in my book is like saying Salvation Army and Ralph Lauren are the same!

In a post G35Girl admitted one of her 14+/- kids was mine, thus (WRAH ~"boinked" g35girl!!!)</font color=purple>

Re: *NEW* Improved Crystal Guard Quick
It's not good to wax and then CG ur car because the CG won't bond with the paint, it will bond instead with your wax and only be there for as long as your wax. If you already have wax on your car then wash it with dawn dishwashing to get rid of wax then CG it. I used to use the quick but got the pro kit and I am very satisfied.

heh im here g35girl, just been hanging at the audio/nav and tech/mod forums
Just got the bottle today and I am impressed by the nozzle design, its pretty much like a mini-windex bottle.
I will be Dawn'ing + CG'ing the G and the mom's new white S430 benz on Saturday around noon-time... and will be posting my impressions with this with before+after Pics of course!

Re: *NEW* Improved Crystal Guard Quick
*Deep Breath* OK Here we go...
I've just applied CG-Quick on both of my cars, 2003 G35 Coupe Diamond Graphite paint, and 2004 S430 4Matic/AMG Alabaster White.
It took 3 hours total to do both cars from Start to Finish.
Directions:
1) Washed the wheels with Eagle1 A2Z Wheel Cleaner.
2) Washed the entire car with Dawn dishwashing soap (the original blue Dawn).
3) Wet the car fully to remove any excess soap suds still on the car.
4) While the car was still wet, applied the CG-Quick. I must say, the sprayer on the new bottle is really nice, its pretty much like a regular mist-sprayer like a windex bottle has. The only down-side is that I used half of the CG-Quick bottle for these 2 vehicles. This means that this bottle will last 6 G35 Coupe applications (Because the benz is a big hunk of steel).
With the regular old bottle, it used to last me 10 applications.
5) After wiping the entire car with a microfiber cloth, wiping the CG+water together and letting it air-dry.
6) Next I wetted the entire car again to remove the excess CG stuff as indicated in the directions and how-to video.
7) Now here is the main difference in the new formula. I noticed excessive hazing over the entire vehicle. This hazing is comparable to that of wax after you "wax-on."
8) Next I wiped off the water, while lightly buffing out the haze with the MF cloth, also wringing it to remove the soaked water from the cloth.
9) The car was completely dry now, no more hazing! It looks perfect! This is a major improvement over the previous CG-Quick.
Note: I did not apply CG-Quick to the wheels. To put it simply, I hate cleaning wheels- which is why i have Eagle1 A2Z, it does a great job of removing 95% of brake dust and dirt on rim+tire walls. There are too many spokes and ridges in wheels and it takes forever to completely wax them, so in my opinion, it is not worth the hassle.
The car feels smooth now, as if a fresh coat of wax was put on. I am not sure about the effectiveness of the new CG-Quick but I will do a follow-up post in a week or so, or at least till we get a couple of rains here in Michigan.
For the amount of shine and protection, and the little time+effort that it takes to apply it, Crystal Guard is a great innovation in paint-protection. I wonder if this would work wonders on my Church's golden painted dome...
Now for the pictures. Enjoy!

G35 After CG-Quick (about 15 minutes after completion)
There is hardly any difference in this picture. After CG'ing, there is more "gleem" to the paint. In-person it is much different, plus the CG takes almost 1 day to fully "cure."
