Has anyone had any issues with the leather on the steering wheel and/or shift **** sort of peeling off?

Its only on one spot on the steering wheel and its not where i usuall put my hand on... on the shift know is on the top right next to the metal plate showing where the gears are...

It looks like a coat of something to give it some texture or something to that extend cause once it peels off the underneath is also black... ???

Any ideas?

How long have you had your car? I haven't ever seen anything like this, but guess it could be something they used to protect it during shipping, I would definitely run it by the dealer!

About... 9 months...

Everytime i wash it i condition the leather and stuff...

Everyone else i know of hasn't had any issues...

I guess i should go to the dealer and see whats going on... just wanted to see if it was common or not...

 

Hmm, that's how old mine is, no issues like that, mine is still looking great.

How often do you wash/condition it? Maybe you're doing it too often?

 

I only condition the leather about once a month...

That thought passed thru my head, but if that was the case wouldnt the whole steering wheel be that way? its only about... a quarter size and its located on the top part closest to the windshield... (when the steering wheel is straigth)...
