Re: best tire shine?

I am using zaino tire glass right now and i'll be changing after i finish this bottle because it just doesnt last long enough, its not "wet" looking enough for my standards, but other than that its OK, and i like the fact that its not oily. but I'd recommend something other than zaino tire glass for your tires.

Re: best tire shine?

I use Meguiars High Performance. Purple gel that lasts for 2 weeks and doesnt get dissolved by water. Can spread it for light darken, or just apply for the "new tire shined" look

Re: best tire shine?

I use vinylex on my tires and don't get slings. It darkens the tire and make it look new. I use it on cars that want a new car look. I always apply 2 coats everytime. For a higher gloss I vote for meguiars endurance gel (purple one). I use it with a foam pad from eagle one. I pour a thin line on the pad and let it soak on the pad for a couple seconds. Then apply it thinly on my tires. for a higher gloss apply a 2nd coat. After letting it dry (aprox. 10 min.) I buff the tires with a cotton towel to remove excess to prevent slings. Always make sure not to put too much product on the tires. It'll make it harder to buff and the product will get into the crevices between the treads that causes slings when you drive off.

Re: best tire shine?

When i went to the dealer they told me these little sprays that people use to shine thier tires will eat through the tire.

Is this true? When i went for my maintenance i was talking to the Detailing people who have expierence with it.

Re: best tire shine?

i really doubt it.. the black magic stuff I use is just a silicon substance which gets into the sidewall, and then becomes slick, so that dirt and whatnot doesn't stick.

But then I'm not exactly a chemist so I dunno.

Re: best tire shine?

Some rubber and plastics are sensitive to products that contains silicones. Most materials that are made these days aren't that prone to browning or degrading as much as before. If you want to make sure you're on the safe side. Use something that is water- based and doesn't contain solvents or silicones. The only downside on water based formula is that they are not as durable as solvent based.

Re: best tire shine?

Meguiars for me as well. The sponge makes applying quick and easy, and there is less sling.

Re: best tire shine?

i've used them all and like zaino's the best. but it isn't just for tires, its for any plastic trim pieces (well black and gray ones really) on the outside of the car you would like dressed up.

By far te easiest product to use that looks great is Black Magic Tire Wet Foam (make sure you get the foam!!!!). Just spray it on and viola, no rubbing or anything! I'm also a huge fan of the Dupont Teflon Car Series products, the stuff genuinely works and lasts a long time!

Re: best tire shine?

I use Meguiar Gold Class Tire Gel and I'm very pleased. I use a small sponge like applicator to put it on evenly.
Results last for over a week.
