Blue coral

I got a guy that keeps telling me that Blue Coral is the best wax out there no questions asked period!..... anyone have any opinions on this?...I have been using Zymol which I have been happy with but I want to try a "harder" wax to help protect aginst chipping and Zymol is more of a wax/cleaner which is very soft.

Thanks

Re: Blue coral

triji, I used to use BLue Coral back in the day (early 70's), and at the time, it was the best protection for your car........

It was a two step process, cleaner/polish and wax........it was not to user friendly, and took a good amount of time to apply and buff off.......

I now use P21S, which goes on like butter, and you just wipe it off with out allowing it to dry. It is by far the best and easiest true carnauba wax I have ever used......

It's so easy, that I usually add a layer every other week after washing my car.......it takes me on average about 45 minutes to do my entire car and then follow up with a quick wipe with detail spray.......

Unfortunately, I don't think any wax will prevent chipping, because if that was the case, the front of my car should look like it rolled off the showroom floor instead of being sandblasted......

Re: Blue coral

So is your friend in his/her 50s, maybe low 60s? Just a guess. That was THE wax to use some time ago.

I'm in my 40s (just for the record) and I swear by Rain Dance (which was THE wax to use when I started buying and taking care of cars).

Someday, you'll be telling some kid about how great Zymol is, and they'll be thinking - geesh, who IS this old timer :-) It's a circle of life thing...

Re: Blue coral

P21S is $35 a pop. That's pretty expensive compared to Zymol at $12 a bottle.

Is it really worth it?

Re: Blue coral

Zymol cleaner wax is a one step polish and wax. If you don't mind doing the two step p21s product, it is worth it. I used to use zymol cleaner wax on my black car. Although it looks good, i don't think it last that long. Also, it is not too friendly to work with. Another thing is it stain my plastic trim which is really annoying and attract way too much dust. After using p21s non of those problem exist. The wax goes on and off really easy, it doesn't attract that much dust and the shine I got is really above from my expectations. Make sure you also get the p21s Gloss enhancer paint cleaner with the paste wax.
