this whole thing has been a nightmare, but I'm hoping someone call tell me if the proposed repair method will look good or hacked together.

I was home in Boston for a week to attend my grandmother's funeral 2 weeks ago, when I got back last monday I saw that my car had been egged and it was completely baked on. My housemates told me it had been egged 4 days prior and sat in the sun during a San Jose heat wave. I was and still am livid that my housemates made no attempt to contact me during this period, but that's beside the point.

I was hit with about three eggs to my driver side window. They ran all down the door with splatter on the front fender and rear quarter panel, plus the roof. They tried buffing it out at the shop, but it left behind a lot of the cracks and etching in the clear which will obviously need to be repainted.

They claim they can just sand down the affected areas and repaint them since it's a non-metallic black car - but this seems a bit ridiculous to me.

What leverage do I have for making them respray the side of the whole car and feather it into the other body panels instead of doing about 10 5"-10" diameter spots? When I told them that I keep finding more and more damage, they just keep saying that the estimates are always low and they'll add more on at the shop. I'm getting really pissed about the whole ordeal. They said it $625 in damage, which seems very low - considering I was keyed about 8 months ago on the passengers side and the repairs were almost $2,000.

No pics unfortunately, just wondering what grounds I had for getting the best repairs possible.

 

1st - Roomates are Diks for not calling you or atleast rinsing the car off for you. To me it sounds like they may be behind it or know something.
