Haze on Volk lip

I'm having some hazing problems on my rear wheels for some odd reason. well just the driver side mainly. Any ideas on how to remove it?

just spent 10+ hours detailing and the paint looks amazing but the hazing is really killing it...

I've already tried clay and meg 105 along with some scratch x and nothing seems to really work.

I don't believe it's my wash. I'll usually wash with ONR once a week and a mixture of Meg NXT and ONR once a month.

maybe you left one of those cleaners on that wheel too long?

i seen this happen to my buddys wheels he left in the sun with some wheel cleaner and it stripped the clear coat off it

soap and water is the only stuff i use , wash and dry off immediately , no probs for me for awhile now , thats just imo though

I'd try some metal polish on the lips, it appears they were oxidized from a chemical reaction. If the lips aren't clear coated, a good metal polish and some elbow grease should help restore the finish. I'd try something like Optimum Metal Polish or if you want to pick something up locally, some suggest Mother's Billet Polish.

Keep us posted if anything helps.

They have a clearcoat on them. I'm thinking maybe 2000 grit then hit it again with the meg 105/205. any thought?

If you don't mind stripping the clear and anodized finish on all your wheels:

Keep in mind you will now have bare aluminum exposed and will want to apply some sort of protection every few months.

No, that would just remove the clear coat, why go that aggressive? Start with the lightest first, try a finishing polish or something, then medium.

You have to realize that's it's possible your just instilling more scratches from using something as aggressive as 105.
