stock layers of paint?

anyone know how many layers of paint/clearcoat we get stock???

Usually, all manufacturers typically put (I think) 3-4 coats of color and 2 of clear. I am not positive, but I think that's what I remember hearing. Supposedly you don't want too many layers of paint b/c it makes it softer and easier to chip. I am sure someone here knows the exact specs on this!

Too many coats will make the paint fail. When I spray it just depends on if Im going to color sand or not. If I do then I will throw three coats on, if not then Ill do two.

Whoa! G352NV he asked how many, not that we need more or didn't get enough, just how many do we have, for all we know he paints Ferraris. This board gets more and more hostile...
