What is the best method of using touch up paint
Well after almost a year and a half of having my Coupe I think it is time that I touch up some little scratches and nicks. I am willing to purchase the touch up paint and touch it up myself but I have seen too many cars that have touch ups that look like disasters. So before I do it I wanted to know if anyone has any good methods on how to touch up scratches and nicks with the touch up paint and have it come out looking good.

Try this. http://www.carcareonline.com/viewarticle.aspx?art=8
Keys are to layer paint with #2 artist brush and allow to cure before wet sanding, polishing, and waxing.

Excellent link. I've done the alcohol prep, no sanding, and used a toothpick (just kind of tried it and it worked), but I've never known to let the paint wick onto the surface. I've always just got a blob of paint on and let it harden. Eventually with washing it rubs somewhat even, but I can see how patients will make for a better repair. The pencil and sandpaper idea is something I'll have to try.
One question... If a body pannel is vertical, how does the paint wick evenly? Doesn't it all run down thanks to gravity?
The above statements are only my take on the issue. If you disagree with anything I typed then you are 100% right!

On vertical surface, I use paint direct from bottle (not thinned out). Just layer paint (thin coat, dry, reapply) with #2 artist brush (can get from any artist store, like hobby shop).
