So I've bought this beatiful new car and I want to keep it looking like the day I drove it off the lot. From what I've read I dont think I need to clay the car but a good wax should be applied to proctect the paint. Many different waxes have been recommended. I'm sure they are all good. I will also be getting some micro fiber towels. Am I missing anything? Should I apply more than one coat of wax?

Here's what you should stock up on:
-clay bar
-bug/tar remover
-microfiber towels
-wax / sealant: hear a lot of good stuff about zaino (try it out)
-leather shampoo / conditioner
-glass polish / cleaner
-tire dressing

.......just visit your local auto store and do some shopping

If you look at the sticker in the drivers side door jamb, it will tell you your G's birthday. At the minimum it about 2-3 months prior to your delivery date. Keep in mind that the first time your G got washed was when it got to the dealer, after sitting at the port for who knows how long. Sometimes they sit there for weeks, even months especially if dealers don't have room on their lots. Therefore, I would say just wax is a NO NO. I would use all new towels, etc dedicated solely to your G. Start from scratch and clay the car, then follow up with whatever products you choose. At least this way you KNOW the car is clean and your building off a good foundation!
