Quick way to clean brake dust off of wheels

I found a good way to clean off the brake dust on my G....use a Swiffer electrostatic dusting sheet and wipe down the wheel. It works really well and a ton of black dust came off. This is handy between washes, but there will still be residual dust that you should wash off periodically too.

BTW, the sheets are soft and did not scratch the finish.

Wow, I thought I was the only one who used that, but I use the Swiffer Duster, easier to get into the tight spots, plus it even can do inside the wheel, works great, so long as the wheels haven't gotten wet, won't help there, LOL! I also carry a "wipe" in my car to use on dust between washes inside the car!

Where do you guys pick the Swiffer dusting sheets from? Store or buy online?

Selection of stuff I can get where I am is rather limited.

Really, try the Swiffer Duster's, the pricipal is the same, but the duster has a handle, much easier to use IMO. Swiffer
Do you have a WalMart near you? Target, or KMart? I imagine you could buy them online, but not sure where.

or just keep a coat of wax on the wheels and they clean up pretty effortlessly

Got the swiffer with the handle on your guys advice. Works great, like it was meant to clean brake dust off of rims. Thanks for the recomendation.

"Where do they sell the Swiffer dust wipes?"

They should be available at any grocery or drug store. They are great for dusting around the house and sweeping hardwood floors too!

I put Zaino on my wheels this weekend so I'll see if it helps keep the dust off the wheels.

I don't see how a coat of wax can possibly keep the brakes dust down, whenever you wax your car, remember how much easier it picks up dust, like a magnet!

I don't think the zaino will keep it from collecting, I just think it will be easier to wipe on and won't bake on as easily if you don't clean the wheels for a while.

The Z6 spray says it lowers static charge, maybe I should spray that on the wheels....
