Safely removing G35 emblem on sedan.
Safely removing G35 emblem on sedan.
I want to remove the "infiniti" lettering and the "G35" emblem on the rear of my 2004 sedan. I'm concerned that the "G35" is adhered to plastic/polyurethane type material as opposed to metal like the "infiniti" letters.
What's the safest way to take off the "G35" logo?

Re: Safely removing G35 emblem on sedan.
use dental floss to take the letters/logo off the car. then rubbing alcohol and cotton rags to remove the rest of the adhesive. Finally, polish off with wax.

Use a heat gun or hair dryer to loosen up the glue first and then use dental floss.

"This may be a stupid question but why you want to take off the emblem on the first place"
Actually, I already changed my mind on the emblem. I still want to take off the "Infiniti" lettering, but will keep the "G35" emblem and of course the Infiniti logo. These two items are more consistent with how most vehicles are badged--i.e. logo and the vehicle type.

I agree with you, I bought a G35 to buy a G35, not a "generic" car.

Debaged cars look like they just came from the body shop after an accident.

I don't like the debadged look myself, but I can understand that some people do it to differentiate their cars from others. Personally, I bought the black pearl emblems.

the reason why I did it..cause there was too much going on at the rear..had to take away from the distraction..
So, I removed the infinit lettering..which on the old sedan..still has an imprint which was even better..and removed the g35..and left the logo..so it looks good IMO
