Cleaning Engine Compartment

I am planning to clean the engine compartment and wondering how it went with those who have done it. My engine area is not greasy or anything just a little dusty/dirty. I am thinking about using a water spray after the engine is warmed up. Maybe use the Green stuff mixture 50/50 w/ water to clean the dirtier area. Then just dry it.

Later just use the back to black from mothers on the black plastic sections.

Any suggestions feedback.
Thanks
