I had the same thing on my 2004. You wont notice it unless you're up close so I just left it.

Just a question. If you were to purchase new INFINITI emblems, does it comes with a template to line everything up?

I kinda want to put my INFINITI wording back on, but leave off the G35x. I was gonna paint them with translucent black paint to give it a black chrome look, but i can't see where the old letters went. I don't really want to just eyeball it.

Absolute best solution for this is to borrow a dual-action random orbital buffer, an orange cutting pad or white polishing pad, and some medium/light polish and buff the silhouettes out.
I did that when I debadged my "I N F I N I T I" and "G35", you can't see ANY outline whatsoever.

All the decals that i have replaced at the shop have not come with any template. Normally we measure and run a masking tape line across to keep it straight. The only decals ive seen come with any type of reference is for motorcycles.

I'm not sure if it does but I am guessing it does because the guys at the body shop forgot to put the G35 emblem back on the bumper after replacing it with the new bumper. It's still in my car in the plastic and it's attached to a template. At first I was like S*** they forgot to put it back on but I think it actually looks nicer in my opinion with just the Infiniti symbol and the lettering.

I actually think so myself too. Stupid me did a PS job beforehand, decided i only wanted to take the G35x off....but did the INFINITI anyway. Regretted it since day #1.

So i want to put it back...but i want to paint it and the mt fuji in black transluscent paint first. I think it might look good on my OB sedan

The letters are usually attached to a piece of paper and plastic to keep to letters straight but i was refering to placement on the car. The letters will be straight themselves but you could still put them on crooked on the car.

Correct. I ordered new G35X letters and they have a piece of blue foam around them to keep them straight and spaced out properly. I think I ordered mine from Riverside Infiniti.

+1. I took mine to a shop and had it buffed out. Don't freak out
