Second application of NanoWax

Well, here are some pics from my second application of NanoWax. The first application lasted a solid 6-7 weeks with no real loss of luster or shine. I stripped the car and clay bar'd it. Washed it again and then applied a good coat (in a shaded area) of NanoWax to the car. I let it haze up and removed it by hand. I really like this product. It does a really nice job on my Black G Coupe.

Re: Second application of NanoWax

what is the best way to strip the wax before claying the car??

also, how do you like your overlays? i have a black coupe also and am thinking of getting the overlays soon... do they seem too light (yours are standard, right?)?

Re: Second application of NanoWax

I used Dawn to remove the first application of NanoWax. It strips any wax off that you have on the car. Just one word of caution, if you have Zaino or another polymer on the car you will have to use something else to remove it.

I have the original Bat overlays (standard) on my car and I like them a lot. They take the sting out of the bright red plastic tail lights during the day but they appear as normal tail lights at night.

Re: Second application of NanoWax

You should NOT use Dawn to remove old wax. Over time, it will ruin your trim, and it also can damage the paint by stripping the oils in the paint.

You can use a clay bar, or there are cleaner waxes that will remove old layers of wax.

Re: Second application of NanoWax

That is the first time that I have heard that. I've been on this forum for about 9 months and everyone seems to be OK with Dawn as an occasionally used wax remover.

I do not make a habit of using it (once so far). I used a professional product to remove the Zaino from my car before I swithced to NanaWax.

Re: Second application of NanoWax

I've been using Nanowax as well and my 3 coats seem to be lasting long. NYCXLR8, which claybar do you use?

Re: Second application of NanoWax

I ended up using clay magic's kit. It worked OK, but I am going to look for something better. I will relegate the Clay Magic to my wife's explorer
