Re: Does Infiniti dry our cars with brilo pads?

Okay so it's 8:30 and I just got back.

I explained everything to them. I showed them the scratches, I told them I took the greese spots that they left on the inside off (because I didn't want it sitting on there all weekend) that wasn't a big deal. I showed him the panel they only halfway attached. He said that he would take care of everything no problem. Now I don't know what that is. He also said he was gonig to go have a talk with the service manager and the guys that washed my car last Friday.

He seemed very easy to get to do what I wanted. He knows that I'm a moderator for this board so maybe that had something to do with it? I should get my car back sometime today with all of the stuff fixed (maybe not the scratches yet) and some answers so we'll see what the deal is.

Afro I don't need you Brain really... I have two of my freinds coming to help me. You're welcome to come watch if you would like to. We are all going to get lunch and stuff. You can also see my black headlights . I think the closet thing to them is Bat's overlays but that goes over the entire headlight and not just the chrome piece... I think.

Regarding the swirls, I'd tell them you want a PROFESSIONAL detail done to remove the swirls. Then, a good suggestion I think I've seen here and on other detailing forums is to put a sign on your wheel when you take it in for service that says

DO NOT WASH THIS CAR

Dealers do an ok job of washing if you arent too big into "the perfect look", but for detailing enthusiasts, they are THE WORST....

Re: Does Infiniti dry our cars with brilo pads?

I'm giving him the chance to take care of things his own way today. If he does them decently (not perfect) I will be writing Infiniti a good review about him. He has helped me 100% in the past so I don't at all put any blame on him for the issues about my car. It was the idiots that worked on it. I will be putting a sign on my car that says Do Not Wash from now on.

Re: Does Infiniti dry our cars with brilo pads?

I just got my car back and I have to say the issue has been resolved.

Not only did they re-wash my car (uhgg) they compounded most of the scratches out and waxed it! I must say the car looks great. Infiniti really came through for me.

They also replaced my shift **** and center console. The center console I complained wasn't closing. Mario saw that my Shift ****, the leather was chipping off so he took one off of a new car and gave it to me and ordered another one for the new car because if he didn't do that I wouldn't have a car until Tomorrow night.

I must say I feel very good about what they did and I'm happy with that dealership. I'm pushing my dad to lease an FX-45 there.

When I asked Mario how much it costs to Mount and Balance my 2 new rear tires (I didn't buy them at Infiniti I did at tirerack) he only said $28 per tire! That's soo cheep! The 2 local shops I called wanted $40 a tire unless I bought tires from them. And if I bought tires from them it would cost me $292 a tire instead of $201 from tirerack. When you figure shipping... + the mounting and balancing I got my tires for $240 each installed rather than going to my local shop who would have charged me.. $292 a tire + 17.52 for tax and $19 each tire to mount and balance... That's... $328.52 a tire... dammum

Re: Does Infiniti dry our cars with brilo pads?

My car only had minor swirls before I took it in for service at Ramsey last January. It was covered in salt, and really needed a wash (which I usually tell them NOT to do), so I figured what the hell, free car wash. Bad idea. I had major swirls until I used a PC and buffed most of them out, even now I'm still left with some minor ones. So Ramsey messed my car up too. But they are better than the dealer in White Plains.

Re: Does Infiniti dry our cars with brilo pads?

Is that PC a power buffing tool?

How sucessful were you with the power tools?

I usually won't let them touch my car.

Are you expierenced? I would like to see your car and my car next to eachother and compare and maybe I could borrow your "tool." What did you use as compound / swirl remover?

LOL! I was just at Ramsey this morning. I told them "No Wash." The guy is like, "Yeah, we've gotten used to your request. The car wash guys must love you. All they do is wash cars all day. New cars, old cars, loaner cars, show cars..." And I wonder how many times they replace their towels between cars for clean ones.

Re: Does Infiniti dry our cars with brilo pads?

i just got my g35 6mt at park ave infiniti in englewood, i live in closter... thanks for the heads up about their service, i was planning on getting the wing added on and XM but i guess i'll head to the place that installed my JL subs instead to do the XM, and probably hold off on the wing. Englewood dealership sucks so bad, all the sales reps are liars, and don't forget most car salesmen are liars (i'd say over 90% of salesmen in the 50k and under category lie no matter what it takes), they will say anything and everything to make you happy and keep on buying their products.

Re: Does Infiniti dry our cars with brilo pads?

Malx - it's not hard at all to use. I practiced on three cars before I tried it on mine. It only gets dicey when you decide to buff out some serious scratches and you're using the more heavy duty cleaner compounds. But the PC is very forgiving, and as long as you keep the speed at 1/6, it's very tough to burn the paint.

I've used Meguiars Heavy Cut Cleaner (strength 7/10), Meguiars Dual Action Cleaner Polish (6/10), and Meguiars Swirl Remover 2 (2/10?) on my brother's Pontiac. I used DACP on a friend's Honda. For my G, I used Mezerna Intensive Polish and Mezerna Final Polish, although I think they really were mostly fillers, and didn't get out the deeper swirls. Next time I do it, I'm buying a flood light to make sure I get everything out.

east, you should have searched for "park ave" on this forum. You would have found all you needed to know about that dealership.
