My buddy's got a CF hood. Now, he buffed it, but didn't polish or seal it. Now, it looks faded, after 24 hours. Whats the right way to polish a CF hood.

Older post but no one answered so I will. I have a cf hood and have detailed cars with cf hoods too. You treat them the same as you would a regular painted hood. Only thing you have to be conscious of is that you can't use the same amount of pressure as you would on a non cf hood. I have no idea why your friends hood would be faded, I'd like to know what kind of polish and pads he was using.

 

Thanks for reply, he buffed it again, but this time he also polished it and it seems to be okay. I'll ask what he used to buff and polish.

In detailers lingo buffing and polishing are really one of the same. Try to find out exactly what he used.
