Anyone noticed their g35's sedan rear bumper paint doesn't completly match? (silver)

Hi, so I recently acquired a g35 2003 sedan. Lately I've been noticing that the rear bumper is slightly different color (maybe it's me?). It's a silver, so I didn't really care I thought it was lighting or whatever but I drove around town and I saw a few g35's silver as well and I noticed the color was slightly different as well. Is this a factory mistake?

No. Probably prior accident followed by wrong paint

Nah I made sure there hasn't been an accident in the back before. I was just looking through craigslist and found this g35 from a dealer that claims a clean tittle

check out the pic:

you can see slightly what I mean it's not really that big of a difference but it is there.

Where is the mismatched paint? And how do you know it hasn't been? Just cause it hasn't been documented on carfax or the dealer doesn't mean it hasn't had prior work done

actually I know what you mean OP, I see alot of DG coups with the same thing, a few months back someone went back to the shop like 2 times to get it repainted, but it was lighting and such.

Post some pics with some good even lighting.

It's just the lighting. Notice how the bumper matches the panel above the gas door.

I remember reading a thread where a guy was complaining that the body shop messed up his rear bumper paint and had the body shop repaint it 2 times... Only to find out that under the shade, it was a perfect match, but under direct sun where the light hits different angle, it looks mismatch.

Look at all the silver G's... It's the same.

Best way to tell is to look at the gaps on the rear bumper....If the car was in an accident, and somone wasn't careful enough to color match and blend the paint properly, chances are they didn't get the fitment of the bumber quite right either. See how the seams match up.

My front bumper colour especially doesnt match. I see tiny lines at the corners of bumper and for a second i thought that it was clear bra, but even if it is, its so thin that I cant even feel it with my nail. It's nothing like clear bra on rear fenders. Anyways on one spot this 'clear coat' started peeling and paint under it totally matches the car. Any thoughts ?

I have only seen a few silver cars with matching metal/plastic parts. Its the same color, its just how the paint lays on the material, and like someone else said, its really about the angle and the light that really makes this stand out.

I had a silver 08 Sti and it matched but my friends Silver 08 STi didnt "look" like they matched as well as mine. We both bought our cars new, one was built about a month before the other one.

Silver is a hard color for even the factory to paint sometimes. But really, Im sure the car is fine, its just the nature of the beast.
