Hard water spots on windows

Hey guys, I just bought a beater and it has some hard water spots on the windows. Im not even sure if it is hard water spots. It just feel rough and when I use glass cleanr on it, it has some random dark spots while its when? How do I remove them? And can anyone help me figure out what this is.

If anyone wants to know what kind of beater I have, I have a 2005 Honda Civic 2dr.

What he said or add a little bit of water to Comet powder to make a paste. You can polish the glass with this or use 0000 fine steel wool.

I strangely have what looks to be hard water marks as well, however it is on the inside of my windshield (I have no idea where it came from).

I have not been able to remove these as well, any suggestions, since this is on the interior and not exterior as the OP?

Use a small hand towel with the paste made of comet and wipe clean with water.

if your windows are tinted do not attempt this on the "inside" it will probably eat up your tint. If they are not tinted same methods will work.

Be sure to use water with the 0000 steel wool pad as well, or else you'll just scuff up your glass.

I would never use anything abrasive on my windows....steelwool/comet. A little CLR on a rag will remove all your water spots and not damage your windows. I clayed my windshield a while ago, what I considered to be clean wasn't....couldn't believe the krud I picked up. Then I finished off with Invisible Glass spray and it looked like new....

Thanks for the help guys, but i tried that CLR bathroom cleaner thing and it didnt work for me. My windows feel really rough. Is there anyway to fix this? I wanna try the steel wool, but im kind of hesitant because I dont want to mess up my windows even more. Would rubbing compound work?

^ USE 1500 or 2000 grit sandpaper and wetsand the puppy.

I use this method on my GLASS fish tanks, it woks well!

Make sure to keep the paper wet when sanding. I think the 2000 grit paper is mirror finish type paper, it wont harm your glass.
