Re: Best Microfiber towels PERIOD
DanO, coming from you this really surprises me, working for a company that has had strong american ties since the early 1900's, and even supports the war effort with the parts and electronics that eaton's subsidaries produce for fighter jets. It must really chap your *** to work for such a company.

Re: Best Microfiber towels PERIOD
I understand where you are coming from, i like to buy american when possible, but it was unnececary for this topic to bring up the whole issue over some towels.
I am a proud american, i do not like what the french have done, however i will not pick meaningless fights over some $12 towels. Arguing in this forum will do nothing to help america.
Besides, i just get a little offended when somebody who bought an non-american car comes in and tells me not to buy non-american towels.
Please learn when and where to start the arguments. Starting aguments all the time detracts from your credibility and just makes people look at you as a fire starter.

Re: Best Microfiber towels PERIOD
My choice between a Japanese or a German car came down to performance, size, and cost -- I don't give a rat's *** who owns the corporation. I looked at American cars too -- but they've just finally become somewhat competitive in the field of sports sedans, and aren't at the top of the pack. The French are ultimately insignificant with respect to the current Iraq situation, and don't warrant the effort it would take to boycott them. If I want to buy a $12 towel, I'll buy a $12 towel. If I want to buy a 6-pack of towels for $3 from Walmart, I will (don't do it by the way.. they fall apart in the washer and leave little towel bits stuck to the drum). I think Freedom Fries is a stupid name. The French don't concern me, the Iraqi's do. If Renault came out with a killer car that blew away the G35 and 330i for about the same price, I'd buy it. Then I'd wipe it down with my ratty $3 towels.

Just wanna add 1 more thing....just because the french dont support war, doesnt mean we should hate them.... i didnt support the war not because i am not a patriotic american....but because it was an uninvoked war. Both Afghanistan and Iraq had NOTHING To do with what happened on 9/11....

AAAARRRRGGGHHH!!!
If it was about oil, we would have just bought it. If it was about 9/11 and terrorists, we wouldn't have wasted time with the U.N., we'd have just barged in like we did with Afghanistan. It's about ignoring/evading the U.N. sanctions and resolutions for over a decade. Feel free to continue to believe differently, though.
Buy an Iraqi towel and support the reconstruction effort.
Anybody want to start a pool on how many more posts we can get in before the moderators move this discussion to Off Topic?

Re: Best Microfiber towels PERIOD
Just out of curiosity, not to offend anyone....
Is it me or does GM, the maker of "AMERICAN" cars have their factories in Mexico, thus profitting them, while the Japanese companies each have at least one U.S. factories benefitting the econ of our country??? so, if you want to get technical, buying an American car isn't that much more patriotic from buying a Japanese car...
oh and I thought Renault owned the majority share of Nissan stocks....

Don't forget, Michelin is a French based company as well. So are some of you going to get rid of your Pilot Sports?
BTW, this thread kept going on and off topic. We mods keep trying to monitor and be flexible before moving posts depending on total thread content, etc. As long as it's reasonably relevent, some rants are okay.
....Now back to Microfiber towels....
