Recommend a leather conditioner or treatment

New guy here. I drive an all-black 2004 6mt coupe with all options except spoiler. Took delivery in Janaury '04, had it almost seven years now and just went over 30k miles. Love this car.

There was a tiny tear in the leather of the driver's seat. I had it repaired and the shop said it would be a good idea to use some kind of leather conditioning product to prevent drying and cracking in the future, since I plan to keep this car long-term.

I don't want to just pick up something from Wal-Mart, so I joined to ask what product you might recommend for taking care of the leather interior.

I use two different things made by the same great company, Zymol cleaner along with their conditioner. My seats are very soft and I don't show wear on my '04 seats.

Lexol and Zymol are two good products that are available in most areas fairly easy. However my vote goes to Zaino. I find it works great, and keeps the new leather smell in your seats forever.

BTW...can you tell that its all about personal preference? I'd probably pick up what you can get locally, see if it works for you, then go from there.

Hey, thanks for all the advice. Sorry about posting in the wrong section. Once I get the cleaner sorted out, I'll have to post some pics of my car. It's stock but I love the classic lines and timeless silhouette Infiniti designed. I still lust after a 60's Dino but that is understandable!

That may be an issue - I was hoping for something with no smell! Girlfriend will notice in 8 seconds if there is a new scent in the car.

Check out Leatherique if you're looking for some thing to prevent cracking in the leather.

Here's a couple good articles showing the capabilities and results of the product:

Zymol Z-507 and Z-509. Best product I've used so far. Plus it's all natural.

But I'm sure ANY products with a 'separate' bottle for cleaning and one conditioning will do a lot better than those 'combo crap'.

I use Meguiars.

They have Gold Class in the spray bottle which is great. Then a Pump which has Aloe in it. Hands feel so good after using the one with Aloe

Why is that a problem?
