best way to buff out scratches on plastic???

so i took my headlights apart to get the housings painted.....went to wipe them clean before i put them back together....figured a lil plastiX wouldnt hurt with a brand new microfiber polishing rag. wrong. now the INSIDE of my lenses are scratched. one not so bad....very minimal....the other side looks like i took 800grit to it. whats the best way to go about cleanin up the inside of the lenses now? the outsides arent a problem, ill do them as i do every other one. 800, 1500, 2000, cleaner, polish, wax vwalla......help pwease!!

Your not suppose to touch the insides, there is a coating. I think you need new covers...

That is correct. I don't think you'll get the inside clear and smooth again.

Best headlight polish/cleaner on the market is 3M. You may as well give it a try at this point you have nothing to lose and it will remove all the scratches.

It depends what type of plastic it is. firstly , try get some 'glasspaper' use it the same as you woiuld sandpaper and after the scratches show a little less, get some 'wet n dry' paper. This stuff looks like a black piece of sandpaper however you wet it before you use it. I hope this helps however it depends on the type of plastic.
