Aero mud guards

Had dealer install front & rear G35 Coupe mud gaurds. They installed with a thick 2 sided tape, which created a gap between guard & body. I took the tape out, but guards are still not tight to body. Which tape should I use to get a factory installed look, and have them look like they are part of the car ?
Thanks in advance.

Re: Aero mud guards

I installed mine myself and found that if you don't remove the wax completely, they will not sit flush. Take them off, re prep with with rubbing alcohol, replace with new 3M double stick tape and try again. It's important to line everything up and only peel back a starter strip for the double stick tape. It also helps if both the splash guard and body panel are warm (don't try doin it below 60 degrees. The warmer the weather the better! Mine sit totally flush except for the last 1/4" of teh rear splans guards where there is no tape and i believe a slight design flaw. In the spring I will bring out the heat gun and give it a lil convincing!
