Hey, autozone sells a headlight cleaning kit... you should start with that lol... Noone sees under the hood often, but those headlights are YELLOW... Like stated before, Air filter, battery and alternator... everything else is fine.

oh god, yes those are past due my friend... when i bought my G off my friend i had yellow lights too. get 3M's headlight resto kit from autozone!!! yes, it can be a lil intimidating cuz your pretty much sanding the oxidation off your headlights but they will be fine. I was super worried and i googled/youtubed how to do it for a couple days!! and everyone will tell you the same thing, wetsand your headlights with a several grades of sandpaper(included), from rough to fine. and then take the sponge like buffer they give you and work in the rubbing compound, took me about 15-20min for the first headlight cuz i was super nervous and 10min for the second. it makes the world of difference and it makes your HIDs seem like HIDs :P

Edit: btw, wetsanding is simply sanding while the surface is wet. i poured water on the headlight and then went at it, after that i added a little as needed, if its dry it will burn the surface(you will smell it) and your not sanding by hand, unless you want to, the kit has drill attachments. which im sure you can also rent at autozone. my autozone didnt have one but i borrowed my roomates drill. and if your drill has the setting, choose more TORQUE OVER SPEED.

Those are the right products, the grime reaper has different dilution level recommendations on the bottle. I'm going to be picking that up soon to tackle my engine bay as well. From what I've read, aluminum foil works great to cover up the alternator. (I'll probably use several layers) Detailed Image ( a sponsor here) has all the products you need.

I would not use aluminum foil on your alternator! aluminum is conductive and guess what.. your alternator has a live wire at all times! all it needs is to find a path to ground thru your aluminum foil. Just a heads up. Most new cars have a cover protcting the bare metal contact. I would make sure that it is not exposed before wraping your alternator in tin foil.

Wrap up alternator in a plastic walmart bag. Sure you have one around somewhere.

You could do that also, just be sure to cover the power terminal well. The ECM and electrical components on our cars are sensitive, I would hate to see some one burn up a voltage reg.
