Any ideas on how to clean inside of headlights?

Inside of my headlights are filled with what look like nasty water stains. Anyway to take off just the outer piece when you take the headlights off?

Thanks

Do not try to clean the inside of the lenses. They will scratch and you will be worse off than when you started. However, If the water is on the bezel and not the clear lens then you could wipe those off.

Yeah just the bezel cover is all that's dirty just didn't know if it comes off with ease when you remove the headlight or came off at all. Thanks

You know to open the headlights you have to take them off your car and bake them right?

I saw that in a thread a while ago actually for painting them. Damn. Was hoping i didnt have to bake em just to clean the inside. They are pretty nasty looking. Might wait a bit then till i get them customized and have em cleaned then. I dont know how water leaked in like that though on both sides. It seems the same on both sides but it never changes. Maybe it was a one time thing idk.

Maybe it's just the lens on the outside? Take a picture of it so we can see if it's really the inside (which I doubt). Also, baking the headlights isn't all that hard, just make sure you the temperature isn't too high where the bezel cracks (happened to me lol) and while you have the headlights part, PAINT THEM BLACK ftmw!

I'll take a pic when I get home today. I know baking makes it softer to get the plastic tabs bent without breaking it. I'm worried about it hardening back up and not being able to put them back with baking it again. I want to get them color matched to my dg lol I like black but my painting skills are not up to par to want to paint my g35.

If it hardens up alittle, put it back in the oven just for 30 seconds to heat up the sealant. But definitely paint them, I was a newbie when I painted mine black. If you know how to use air freshener sprays, then you know how to paint!

Sand it down with 400 grit sandpaper, use Duplicolor Sandable Primer and use 4-5 THIN coats, let it air dry 15-20 mins between each coat, at this point if you see lint you can use 600 grit paper to sand away imperfections and then use 4-5 THIN coats of Duplicolor Bumper coating. REAL simple on spray painting (10 being easiest, I give it a 9 for newbies). The only hard part is taking the headlights off the car, the baking isn't even that hard just time consuming.

Now I cant tell if its inside or outside. The picks I take cant really pick it up with my phone and its very bright out. It darkens when wet but the second it dries its back. I cant tell if its just covering up from what underneath or not. I have scrubbed them before when washing the car and then come out just the same. Any ideas? Ill post this picture but its not that great.

Yeah, it seems like that's on the outside. You can use pretty much any headlight lens restoral kit and should clean that up. Reviews on 3M, Rain-X, and meguiars plastic x seem to work wonders

i don't even use a kit like that, although they work - i just hit mine up with my polish and my porter cable from time to time and that works great

Yeah, use rubbing alcohol. Apply just enough to get it off and then wax and then polish over it

Pretty sure I tried that awhile ago. The spots are so old it kind of made a pit in the trunk. The woman who owned it before me didn't get it totally off in like 12 little spots on the trunk that's y I was asking if touch up kits would be better.
