Any tips on using the Langka kit?

This if for those who have used/tried the Langa paint chip/scratch removal kit. I'm asking/looking for any tips in using it. I have some pretty bad paint chips on the front of my car and have tried the Langa kit on it with mixed results that I'm not satisfied with.

I clean the area first, apply the touch up paint in a blob, wait at least a day for it to dry, then attack it with the blob remover and my thumb rapped in cotton shirt. I can get the blob level with the surrounding, paint with each swipe of my thumb, but I can still notice that the paint left over is not matching with the surrounding paint? What gives? Am I missing a step. What is the correct Nissan code for Diamond graphite touch up paint?

2K4 - 6 spd mt, diamond graphite coupe, z-tube, borla exhaust. Next mod: High flow cats or some type of test pipe.

the problem lies with the fact that you have a metalic paint. the Lanka disloves and removes the excess paint but it leaves behind the metalic flakes so the touched up area is lighter then the original color. Try to not leave the blob too big, make several light coats and try to get it to the same level as the original paint, that way you'll remove only a small portion of the paint. another trick that may help a little bit is to mix in some clear coat with the touch up paint or you could apply a thin coat of touch up paint with it a little depressed, you just want the color and use a clear coat on top to build up and get it level, the Lanka can then be used to knock down the clear coat. I found that wet sanding with a 2000 to 4000 grit paper does a good job on touch up paint, just be very carefull not to takeoff too much.

i've been trying to use Langka too. It seems like everytime i tried using the blob remover, it just removes all the paint. It doesn't seem to work for me. Do you experience this too? I've left the touch up paint on for like 3 days.

sounds like you didn't let the paint dry enough. depending on the weather it may take a few days to dry. I've done it on paint that was on for months and it still worked, just took a long time. Are you using the card? you need a really flat surface so you don't dip into the paint chip, you want to use the surrounding area as a guide, try to not concentrate on the chip so much but rather work the area in general.

when you rub the touch up paint off with the lanka try not to cencentrate on the blob it's self, but the area in general. That way the surrounding area of the original paint will be a guide, if you only rub on the blob of paint that's when it takes off too much.
