Well I hosted my fourth detail meet on Saturday, April 16. There was a decent turnout for the event, and a huge thanks goes out to Brent Gray at Dupray industries for allowing me to use the garage and for providing excellent barbeque and drinks. There were members from a few different forums that attended, providing a good mix for the event.
We started by trying out the steam cleaner for cleaning up the rims. The Hill Injection does an awesome job at blasting away the brake dust and oils that sit on the rims. Here are a few shots of a forum member using the machine.

Then I cleaned the leather seats

Shot of the unit

Then we did the driver’s side mat

Brent showing the steam action

End result

Then we cleaned the headliner, we started with this

Ended with this

This is the towel after the first corner

Claying action

A little John Deere green over spray

Checking the paint, good old GMC thick clear

Paint Before shots, very bad, never polished, or washed with care

Explaining the difference in pads

Wool compounding

After a few rounds of compounding

Everyone giving it a try

Some polishing

Taping off the pin stripes

The start

Work in progress

Finish after polishing steps

The hood looking a little better, you can see the difference from the fender (untouched) and the hood.

The truck still has a lot more to be done to it, but it was a good example on how to correct paint, and using different types of compounds and polishes.

Must have been a secret Detail Meet. It is too bad no one was notified in the Canadian section.
Too bad, we always have enjoyed the very informative and Detail meets Picus has hosted. It would have been nice to check out another.

sorry guys, I offered it to the forums I sponsor first, and there was limited availabilty due to space restrictions. If I throw another one I will put something up on here for sure, maybe at the end of May if someone wants to donate a location for the day.
