Re: GOOD TO WASH CAR IN WINTER????

I think it's even more important to wash the car in the winter, ESPECIALLY if you live where they use salt on the roads!!! Griots makes a wash mitt with a waterproof lining so your hands don't freeze! I have washed mine when it was so cold ice would form on the driveway and I just about cracked my head open!! As l ong as you dent don't dent or scrach the G on the way down, it's all good! LOL

Re: GOOD TO WASH CAR IN WINTER????

I used to wash my cars when it was that cold, LOL, sometimes the damned water was freezing before I could dry it off, had to put it in the garage so it would thaw, not that adventureous anymore, LOL!
Edit: Got to wash mine this afternoon, Friday, 12-3, not bad, it was in the mid 40's, but it is good to wash as often as you can in the winter, think I'll wax it in the morning, LOL!

I agree, Got to get that salt off.

Fortunately, I have 3 (new) touch free car washes on my daily drive now.
Used to do the coin op thing before.

Just stay away from the normal car washes.
They will destoy your paint in no time.

yea, definitely wash your car in the winter dude, be sure to use very warm water to get salt off (not hott, u'll end up replacing the windows). i usually buy a set of chemical resistant rubber gloves, like the kind you use to wash dishes or clean the house with. that keeps your hands dry and for the most part warm. plus they go up half your arm so it keeps your sweater dry too.

I never missed one weekend last winter in New Jersey, and we had some pretty cold weather.....

I made sure my hose was in the house 24 hrs before hand, and I wore a pair of heavy duty rubber gloves for my wash mitt/Hands, and I used a 70/30 mix of hot water to aid in my comfort......

I drew more attention from my neighbors who all thought I was insane, but I refuse to let my baby go a week without a good bath. I think its important to keep finish and wheels clean in the winter months, especially with all the salt/sand they spread around

I washed mine yesterday, hi temp 38. Time of wash 34. Fun fact: It was sunny so the water was still evaporating/drying really quicky.

My neighbor gave me some weird looks, I had water-proof gloves on, and used Mr.Clean system, with Zanio soap!

Hey WRAH......
We were quite fortunate in New Jersey today....about 55 degrees.......
I was able to wash and follow up with two coats of P21S wax. You have to take advantage of the few remaining days its not below 32

As far as the neighbors....I say the Hell with them.....If there standing out in the cold temps watching they must be just a nuts as we are!

Yes

To hell with the damned neighbors. The coldest I have washed my Gsedan is 40 something--and damn my car was nice the next day (Friday going to work. Just hate when a damned neighbor pulls up in their minivan that has not been washed in 9 months and gives you that "what the hell are you doing look" And I give them the "mind your damned business, wash your damn taco wagon, I save over $150 a month washing my own cars(including wifes midsized suv) look. I wash my blk G weekly-unless it it is a wash out. I wonder if those neighbors drive by the bubbles car wash and give the hardworking immigrants dirty looks for washing cars in cold weather--NO! If they can do that for a job, I sure as hell can wash my car in my damned driveway in cold weather. It's not like I am washing my car naked or with a suit on or high heels (I'm a guy). Well there you have it.

Houston. I was referring to washing my car right after a cold front. If I need to wash it I will. But luckily my car is clean now, save rear bumper dust and front wheel dust--but still very clean. There is some cold weather headed our way--34 and 28 degree lows on tue and wed. respectively--but NO rain! As you can tell I HATE driving a dirty car.
