Yes you never want to use water, our sensors can get very expensive!
You can take your engine cover and air inlet off and wash those separately. I use detail spray and old t-shirts for the really dirty areas. Once it's really clean you can polish the air conditioning lines with Mothers metal polish. Carefully wax all the painted body areas under hood along with removing all those dumb OE stickers. The stickers on the underside of the hood take some work but well worth getting rid of them. Then you can clean/polish that area too. Well that's a start but at least you'll be looking way better when finished....

Check out the engine bay care section of our detailing guide. It has a step by step guide that is very safe and effective. Best of all you only really need like two products and it only takes about 20 - 30 minutes. Let me know if you have any questions.
