First time Zaino User...Help me out guys

Well, my girlfriend just did what all good girlfriends should do and bought me the Pro Kit from Zaino as a bday gift...The question I have for everyone is, I just put a new coat of wax on the car about a week ago, I used Eagle One Nanowax...Should I strip that stuff and start from scratch again with Zaino, or should I just finish that Eagle one off in the winter time, and then use this Zaino come spring? Also for anyone who is a Zaino user is there any reccomended "to do's" other then the directions that come with the kit? Any insight on this product would be greatly appreciated, I know its not cheap stuff so I don't want to waste any. Thanks

IMO, I would wait until Spring and strip off the wax. I don't Zaino if it's under 50 degrees outside. There was a post about this awhile back. Can't remember. Anyone?

Do you plan to drive the car in the winter? If so, I would remove the nanowax and put the zaino on, strictly for protection purposes. People might argue about it not being the best "shine" product, but it destroys all in terms of paint protection and endurance. It'll protect your paint against salt stains and make it easier to clean throughout the winter.

I also recommend stripping the Nanaowax w/ blue Dawn and applying the Zaino in very light applications. I just want to warn you that once you start Z'ing you will not be able to stop. The smells are absolutely intoxicating and it really does protect like no other.

Yeah, I vote to strip the wax and redo with Zaino. Been using Zaino since I got my G 18 months ago. I get comments on the shine all the time--even when it's dirty (well, dirty in my book, which is clean in other people's book...) Anyway, I live in Philadelphia and last year before winter really set in, I redid the Zaino with about 4 thin coats. It did an amazing job at helping to keep the car finish in great shape even in the midst of a snowy winter with salt, dirt. Snow slid off easier, dirt/salt hosed off easier when I couldn't give it a thorough wash. With several coats it made it to early March when I could reapply. ZAINO!!!

I think most of us agree. Strip it and use the Zaino. Follow the directions that come with it and you will be fine. I've always heard no more than 3 coats within a 24hr period, anymore is a waste. Z6 is the key. I use in between each application and after washes.

I wouldn't use anything other than the blue original dawn. This stuff will remove the wax due to the high alkaline content. I'm not sure of the new Dawn products, so I'd recommend the original.

As for your comment about Nanowax or Zaino.. I was using Nanowax until the Fall came around. Then...Dawn, clay, z7, z5, z6, z5, z6, z2. You can use Z2/Z5 3x in a 24 hour period using ZFX Accelerator. ZFX Accelerator should not be used more than once every 6 months! After that, put a coat of Z5/Z2 on every weekend and you should be good to go. Keep it up with 10-15 coats!
