I've been using various tire dressings on my tires, and so far I haven't had much luck. Some don't last long enough, others look good but end up all over my fenders, especially since I don't have my mud guards yet. Which tire dressing have you used successfully?

Maguiars tire dressing - endurance - makes a mess all over my fenders.

I use Armor All Detailer's Choice Tire Foam, the one with the gold cap. Works well, except your brakes will be bad until you warm them up enough to burn off the overspray.

 

I was a detailer at a lexus dealership, and i will never use tire dressing on a vehicle that has to drive anywhere.

I used to love the stuff, but it is not good for your paint and it will never stay on no matter what the manufacturer claims, trust me, i have tried just about every one out there.

For car shows... knock yourself out, but for daily driving, i will not put it on my car.

Or, you could get a silicon-based product and apply it to the treads, turn off the VDC, and go for a drive in the snow.... [img]/w3timages/icons/smile.gif[/img]

I don't like my tires bare and dull looking, with that grayish-brown color they change to (at least in FL), but I hate the slinging of goop all over my fenders. Fortunately I don't like shiny tires either so I use only just enough to get the tires looking black and clean. Eagle One I think....

I use Eagle one with the foam applicator. I really haven't seen any noticable spray off the wheels. Maybe I am not looking close enough.

I also use Armor-All detailer choice no-touch silicone based foam...... The thing you have to remember is...after you apply the foam, you must wait at least 15 minutes for it to fully dry.....i always wait at least an hour before i drive a freshly washed car...
I get no mess if i wait for it dry...

Oh yeah.... I forgot to mention that! I guess I figured everyone here would have common sense enough to let it dry! :-)

But, yeah I wouldn't drive mine for about an hour once I put the Armor All on. Just make sure you do a couple of brake checks before heading unto the highway.

 

You could also try tire black. It does not make the tire shiny but it makes it look like when you bought them.

Has anyone tried the Zaino Z-16 PERFECT TIRE GLOSS? It says Z-16 is very durable and will last an average of 3 to 4 weeks on an outdoor car.

I'm an expert detailer and believe in Eagle 1. I NEVER spray it on! I always use a sponge and it never gets messy on the car. After a few miles of driving I wipe down the corners behind the wheels for any little excess and it's good for a week.

I just started using the Eagle 1. Works well with an application sponge. Heard great things about it as well. I also have used and like Meguiar's Endurance. I'm not sure yet which lasts longer.
