is the clear mylar protective shield over the front of fenders and hood original ?
my 03 G has a plastic protective covering over the front of hood and fenders and both outside mirrors...they have grey spots and stains on them that I have not been able to remove with any of the products I have laying around
any remedy for this.

I now find that there is a thin plastic covering over both head lights...all around the edges are starting to curl up...I have tried 600 grit black wet sandpaper on them with 2 coats of wax. they will do for now...I am thinking that the grey spots on the rest of the covering over the hood and fenders are from bird droppings. this is only evident if you get within 6 feet. bothersome but may have to live with it since the expense of removing it would not be cost effective.

 

Sounds like previous owner put on a clear bra. My last car had one and had same stains you mentioned
