Debadged but need final detail advise

So did the whole fishing line, remove all badges on the trunk thing.

Got all the glue off... but I still have a few lines between the glue boundary and the rest of the trunk...

The paint appears to be the same color.
I cannot " feel" a line or a ridge between old & new..
I tried some light rubbing compound... no joy there..

It looks great unless your right on it...

Any sage wisdom about final finish?

Thanks
Mike

I'm not one to typically do this but.

SEARCH! YOUR NOT THE FIRST AND CERTAINLY NOT THE LAST TO DE-BADGE AND HAVE RESIDUE.

Just don't use the green side of the sponge to help get the glue off. I did. Now I've got a nickel sized blemish on my trunk.

Well Mr.Jarvo

I did search & found a ton of non useful information & suggestions.
I was hoping someone who has done this could reply with expert information.
That way my trunk doesn't wind up like yours.
At least through your efforts I know what not to do.

Thanks for your time

Mike

Here's a post that answered the question...

https://g35driver.com/forums/g35-cou...y-outline.html

For anyone else....My badges were original, it's an 03 coupe and it looks like it's been garaged most of it's life, however it was a Florida car originally, then a brief time in Kentucky.

Now it resides in sunny So Cal.

You can either try cleaner wax or claybar.
I've had good results from Zymol cleaner wax and Meguires clay bar.
It's always good to have cleaner wax on hand, it usually takes care of those pesky surface scratches that tend to appear now and then.

Well no joy ....
A VERY light sanding & polish at the local detailer... and it's better... but the ghost image is still there... we all agree the color of the ghost is darker, so at best guess ( since I have no history on the car ) It was an outside car ( washed & waxed ) and original paint.. so the trunk faded and underneath the badges didn't...

So I'll get a quote to reshoot the trunk lid.. based on the amount of beets.. I'll decide to love it hate it....
