Please help me fight rust in my engine bay (pics)!

So I have a few rust spots in my engine bay that I want to get rid of by having them either painted or polished, but I have a few questions

#1 - I think this is the water pipe. It is very rusty. Can someone please tell me what it's made of? It's not aluminum since it's rusting, so I don't want to just have it polished because if it's steal then the rust will just return.

#2 - Can someone tell me what this block of metal is? it's rusted on both the driver and passenger side. Can I just remove this?

#3 - This bracket is really rusty. I have the same question for this as I did with #1

#4 - The top of this mechanism is very rusty. I don't know what it's made of. Can I just sand away the rust and paint the top? or is it a delicate devise I shouldn't come close to with sandpaper and a Dremel?

#5 - This devise and the bracket it's attached to on the passenger side of my plenum are very corroded and rusty even though it looks like it's made of copper. Is this something I can polish the corrosion away with my Dremel or is it a delicate device?

Thanks

All the parts you pointed out are steel and would have to be blasted and powdercoated to prevent it from coming back. I have NEVER seen that much rust on a G.

Yea it's pretty bad up here in the rust belt Sean, but that's not even as bad as some of the other Gs I've seen around town

regarding #2, can you tell what specifically what that is? What ever it is, you are saying it's also steel?

#2 is an insert that something bolts into from inside the fender.

So I can take off the fender lining, unbolt whatever is there, then sand and paint that thing and all will be good?

Wow... that's pretty bad. I'm from the TO area and inside the engine bay it super clean. The only rust I got is underneath the car in a few specific spots.
